Founder Barbara who suffers from Sickle Cell anaemia found hope through her passion and love for fashion when she was unwell or had to go to the hospital. She would ask her mum to bring her sketchbook to the hospital so she could draw and it would give her so much Joy. It helped a lot with her recovery as she describes Fashion being a great escape and hope for the future.
Her faith in God , Passion and Love for Fashion motivated her to get well and stay well as she had dreams of a bright future to look forward to. She also had a great environment and support system from her family and sickle cell support group that helped her on her way.
This is the kind of support system we want to create with Gideon's Treasure , we believe in using your passion to overcome your pain. So we have created various creative workshops for people living with Sickle Cell like fashion, art, acting, yoga etc.
At Gideon's Treasure we believe in using your passion to overcome your pain so we have created free creative workshops for people living with Sickle Cell Anaemia.
