At Gideon's Treasure Our goal is to spread awareness and support people living with Sickle Cell Anaemia, a condition that effects mostly a large amount of African, Caribbean and a few Mediterranean people around the world.
With more awareness we can receive better care and a longer life expectancy for people living with this condition. Founder Barbara who suffers from Sickle Cell anaemia found hope through her passion and love for fashion when she was unwell or had to go to the hospital. She would ask her mum to bring her sketchbook to the hospital so she could draw and it would give her so much Joy. It helped a lot with her recovery as she describes Fashion being a great escape and hope for the future.
Her faith in God , Passion and Love for Fashion motivated her to get well and stay well as she had dreams of a bright future to look forward to. She also had a great environment and support system from her family and sickle cell support group that helped her on her way.
This is the kind of support system we want to create with Gideon's Treasure , We believe our passion can overcome our pain. We offer creative workshops and classes in Fashion, art, Yoga etc.
At Gideon's Treasure we believe in using your passion to overcome your pain. So we have created various creative workshops for people living with Sickle Cell.
Fashion was a beacon of hope for founder, Barbara Biosah, when she was growing up and it grew into a life long dream. Barbara is now a Fashion designer and has her own clothing label DUMEBI. She now wants to share her gift and offer free Fashion workshops in her Atelier as a creative outlet, hobby, distraction and give you something you are passionate about to focus on.
